And now I am thirsty.

Feb 26, 2010 13:31

First off, awwwwww, who gave me the v-gift? It's not even like it's my birthday or anything, so I honestly have no idea why someone would give me one at this particular time, but hey, free display of approval, not gonna turn it down. Anon, keep your anon if you must, but at least tell me why you felt the need to pay 99 cents for me, I am legit curious about this.

From re_weird:

Riza Hawkeye, Six and Kubota Makoto go on Survivor. What their respective strategies? Do any of them win, or even make it close?

Hawkeye is used to harsh conditions, and everyone is a little bit intimidated by how stoically she's taking it all. Six did not, in fact, sign up for it, and nobody's really sure why he's there; he alternates between complaining loudly and building microwaves out of coconuts and driftwood, and most of the theoretical other contestants try to ally with him but find him too annoying and eventually turn to ganging up on him instead. (This does not work. It only makes him stronger.) Kubota is completely uninterested in any of it, and gets kicked off as soon as possible because he wants to go home. Eventually Six mysteriously disappears--some remaining contestants remember hearing a strange woman yelling for him--and ultimately Hawkeye is the winner. She donates the money to a charity for military widows.

From rionaleonhart:

What sort of fanfiction would Riza Hawkeye write? What would Katara's opinion of it be?

Hawkeye writes well-researched gen, for the most part; she's also very polite to her readers, and becomes rather respected in the fandom. Katara generally prefers het--the sappier the better--but she and Hawkeye get along extremely well regardless.

Jacuzzi Splot walks in on Battler Ushiromiya and Donna Noble kissing. Exactly how awkward is it?

THE MOST AWKWARD OF ALL. Jacuzzi does not stop apologizing for days, to the point where Donna has to actually slap him and tell him she's not that bothered by it--which only causes him to apologize for apologizing. Battler, meanwhile, is just disappointed that he got interrupted the one time he could be in a sexual context with a hot older woman who didn't enjoy watching him die horribly.

Six, Beatrice, Yotsuba Koiwai and Elizabeth Burke live in a house together. Do they get along? Do fights break out? Do any awkward love triangles develop?

For a few days, the media goes wild over a Mysterious Mass Murder which destroyed an entire house and left no survivors, but it turns out that Elizabeth moved out the day after she moved in and took Yotsuba with her, and there really isn't any evidence that the other two are dead rather than just missing. Either Elizabeth returns Yotsuba to her (presumably extremely worried) father or, if there is an unfortunate reason as to why that cannot happen, adopts her with Peter. (Neal loves her.) Both Six and Beatrice are in a bad mood for a few weeks afterward, which in Six's case results in a lot of half-attempted and ill-advised repairs on the TARDIS and in Beatrice's case results in a particularly horrible few weeks for Battler. The mystery is never entirely solved.

You open your door to find Kimihiro Watanuki standing there. What is your reaction?

Invite the poor boy in, give him some food he doesn't have to cook himself, and wait for either Yuuko or Doumeki to come pick him up, as it was probably due to some sort of supernatural accident and he probably wants to go home. Also, give him a hug.

Both Kenzo Tenma/Fakir and Kenzo Tenma/Toshiko Sato are hugely popular pairings. What points do both sides make in the inevitable enormous 'shipwars?

Both pairings are pretty much entirely based on the principle that Tenma can make anyone's life better, but the Tenma/Fakir people argue that Tenma deserves a more sedate life (assuming this is Fakir post-series) and the Tenma/Tosh people argue that Fakir already has a perfectly good love interest whereas poor Tosh needs one who might possibly like her back and also is not a complete asshole. The particularly bitchy and/or stupid portions of each side argue respectively that Fakir is way too young and that the Tenma/Tosh people only ship it to conveniently pair up the minorities; in an unprecedented move, nobody actually listens to these people.

Would you rather be stuck in a lift with Kubota Makoto or England?

The one who doesn't have a habit of killing inconvenient strangers. I mean. Any more.

From stunt_muppet:

ZOMBIE INVASION TIME. Six, Kenzo Tenma, Elizabeth Burke, and England are trapped in a shopping mall and left to defend against the zombie hordes. How do they defend themselves and how do they fare?

Six has a considerable amount of experience in dealing with unusual and dangerous things, but he's not that great at keeping a level head; Tenma also has experience with danger and for the most part is even-tempered, but is kind of freaked out by the whole "unnatural monstrosity" thing; Elizabeth is probably the sanest of them all but, again, zombies; England is over two thousand years old and has a pet unicorn. He is, shall we say, difficult to faze. He also has the most military experience, so he becomes the de facto leader. Six is convinced it's all the fault of some alien technology, Tenma thinks it must be some medical experiment gone wrong (probably not connected to Johan but he's leaving that option open), Elizabeth agrees with Tenma but is more worried about what's happening to her husband and their boyfriend, and England is pretty sure some supernatural force is fucking with them. Ultimately? Tenma cures the zombie plague by sheer force of determination. Everyone is both extremely impressed and very, very confused.

What music do Jacuzzi Splot and Kimihiro Watanuki choose for their ice dancing routine? And how fabulous are their costumes?

--I'm sorry, I just have to take a moment here. *takes a moment* Okay. Um. Watanuki's costume is actually pretty awesome, since it came from Yuuko's storage room and probably has some kind of enchantment on it. Jacuzzi...lacks such resources. And, given that they have the combined physical grace of an epileptic howler monkey with no depth perception, they fail horribly (if in a rather endearing fashion). That being said, their music is something classical and slightly mysterious; the judges are left with the impression that there is more to the routine than meets the eye. Neither Jacuzzi or Watanuki ever speak of it again. (Although Yuuko already knows, since she orchestrated it in the first place. Watanuki makes slightly lower-grade snacks for a week afterward in revenge.)

What fandom do Battler Ushiromiya and Yotsuba Koiwai share? Who do they ship and what kind of wank do they get involved in?

Oh dear. It is very, very difficult to imagine that there is a series that would appeal to both of them--Yotsuba likes simple, happy, colorful things, and Battler, er, probably likes as much fanservice as possible. Wait! Battler would totally like Death Note, even if it's mostly low on the sex appeal; the endless mind games and logic puzzles appeal to him, although he thinks Light's kind of a dick. This does not stop him from writing really twisted and pornographic Light/L, even if he sometimes twitches when he thinks about it and doesn't know why. Yotsuba does not watch Death Note. She once caught a glimpse of it on the TV, but her dad turned it off sharpish. The bit she did see, though, was Light and Misa during the they-are-not-completely-psychotic section, and so she is convinced they are a loving and very pretty couple. If by some means Yotsuba ever got on the internet, and somehow found the fandom, she would be extremely confused and not understand it at all, which is really for the best. Any theoretical Light/Misa shipper who 1) actually knew the series and 2) was not six years old, however, would get on Battler's nerves liek woah; he may not like Light, but Light deserves someone smart, dammit, who can play on an equal level and really have a chance of bringing the villain down without resorting to supernatural tricks and there's that twitching again, what's up with that.

From thewaterbandit:

Beatrice versus Jacuzzi Splot, video game deathmatch. What happens?

The game: The Sims. The rules: whoever gets a Sim to the top of a career track first without cheating wins. The results: Jacuzzi's family is large, loving, and climbs to the top of the Criminal track in no time. Beatrice's family is all either drowned in the pool or on fire.

Toshiko Sato, Kimihiro Watanuki, and Six get stuck in the wilderness. How long do you think they'd go before eating each other? Who's first on the menu?

Watanuki freaks the hell out, because big forests are full of lots of nasty beings who want to eat him, and the fact that Six is fascinated by this does not help at all. Tosh is also curious, but since she does possess some social skills she tries not to make it obvious. Fortunately for all of them, starvation is fended off by Watanuki being just as good a cook with unconventional ingredients and equipment as he is with ordinary ones, and Doumeki/Peri/the rest of Torchwood comes poking around sooner or later to get them out of there.

Riza Hawkeye and Donna Noble collaborate on a children's book (hurrrr Black Books). What is it about?

The only child-friendly thing Hawkeye knows very much about is dogs, and Donna has a wealth of experience in the "wacky adventures", department, so: dogs, possibly in space, having wacky adventures and not needing to kill people. It sells rather well, all things considering.

THESE WERE FAR TOO FUN. I guess it is easier to finish these things when they are about characters you are legit passionate about rather than just throwing in there to fill up space? --although there were a couple characters who were just in there to fill up space, um. BUT ANYWAY.
