And there are leftovers. There always are, that restaurant gives you too much food. But it is good.

So I had a very good birthday! :DDD All of your wishes were well-appreciated, the sushi I had with my friends was lovely, my fic assignment from help_haiti is ridiculously adorable, and the first volume of Kuroshitsuji I'd pre-ordered back when I was spending my Christmas money with wild abandon arrived! I have now spent actual money that actually goes to the creator on this series; I am unsure whether or not I should be proud of this. But it is so pretty omg, she doesn't overuse screentone and the inks are lovelyyyyy and it does take a little longer than the anime did to get into the darker territory--the first couple chapters are all WACKY SERVANT ANTICS and WACKY VICTORIAN OUTFITS and then suddenly there is THIS RING HAS SEEN THE DEATHS OF ALL MY FAMILY and PEOPLE GETTING STABBED IN THE HEAD and yeah it took a turn somewhere. Whereas the anime started straight off with the dark, then went a bit wacky, then back to the dark, in the first episode. They are both viable paths! The manga just takes the more deceptive path, is all. And of course they both take the deceptive path in terms of, er, other aspects of the series. I am still waiting to hear of people who were clueless going in and got a nasty surprise.

ALSO. I have, in fact, the best friends of all, for not only did they get me a present when they didn't have to, they got me A HETALIA WALL SCROLL which admittedly has not arrived yet but when it does I WILL HAVE A HETALIA WALL SCROLL, AND MY LIFE WILL BE IF NOT COMPLETE THEN MUCH CLOSER TO IT.

--in other Hetalia news, this is the most adorable fanart slideshow of them all, and it is set to a lovely lovely song I had never heard of before but now hear all over the place. The slide changes actually match to the beat of the music! Everything about it makes me happy and filled with love for the world. Probably some of that will happen even if you are not hugely familiar with Hetalia, it is just that adorable.

As for the icon, I realize I already had one with that text, but really can you have too many of those no you cannot. Although, er, I have read Hannibal and I do not think the comparison between the relationships is particularly accurate in regards to later developments, even if I haven't actually seen how Monster ends yet, but I am pretty sure it does not end the same way Hannibal did, that would be, er. Disconcerting on every level imaginable.

silence of the lambs, help haiti, holidays, i like comics, my life and welcome to it, i rec stuff, kuroshitsuji/black butler/whatever, ain't no het in hetalia, monster
