OH HEY kinda random question: lately I have been reading a lot of stuff (and not all of it is manga, hush) that includes build-up to the actual revelation-of-gay; that is, "homg I am obsessed with this guy/we have been good friends for years" taking its time (i.e., loooong) before the character properly realizes they're in love with the other one. And the stuff I've been reading with that level of build-up is just...really, really good. Satisfying, I suppose. But my Big Bang (which I will totally get back to, honest) starts right off with AU!Jensen 1) knowing that he's gay and 2) knowing that the new kid in class is totally hot, so while obviously there's going to be build-up to the actual relationship, there isn't quite as much of that thrill of slow realization. And, well, it's a Big Bang, obviously it'd be long enough to pull that off, but pretty much all of the conflict is centered around Jensen struggling to deal with being in love with a straight guy, so I'd have to find some of that "plot" stuff if I wanted to switch it around and have Jensen be just as clueless as Jared. Also my story is a J2 high school AU and one of the aforementioned awesome-stories-I've-been-reading-lately was a J2 high school AU, so. (I tell myself that my story is different from all those other, often dreaded things because it is technically a high school theatre AU and thus has background stuff for the characters to be doing besides angsting over their tragic crush. Totally different.)
jensen and jared are in love,
my big bang is overpopulated,
gay gay gay,
writing is hard sometimes,
yes i am really very odd
