HIMYM: Good, adorable, sad (in an adorable way), and so geeky. I love it when shows are unashamed to show characters geek out, yes yes. ♥ Also, why did NPH not get that Emmy? Jeremy Piven already had two! I know he's awesome, but how many does he need?
House: Good, slashy, sad. OH WILSON. I MISS THE CAREFREE DAYS OF EARLY SEASON FOUR, WHEN YOU WERE HOLDING GUITARS HOSTAGE. Hugh Laurie did not get an Emmy either. Instead, it went to some guy from Mad Men, which appears to be the new Sopranos in that it (while possibly being very good) steals all the awards from other shows that could possibly use one. Just one, you guys. House is on its fifth season! It might not last that much longer! Give Hugh Laurie an Emmy before he runs back to his family!

Unrelatedly, when you are reading fics from a recs list, and you realize that the fics are from a season or two back--okay, I'll be honest, I'm talking Supernatural here, so S1 or S2--do you feel sort of, meh, it is a good story but it's missing that little spark? Even some S3 stories are like that now, if they're about--or just throw in a passing mention to, as one sometimes does--the way Sam totally got Dean out of Hell, and I kind of want to raise my hand and say, er, sorry, not so much? S1 stories, in particular, I just look at fondly like they were little children just taking their first steps. Aww, of course they're still looking for John! Yes, they are trying to find and kill the demon, yes they are! Also, Sam hasn't actually needed to push his bangs out of his eyes in like three seasons, what with them not actually being in his eyes any more. Ah well. There are worse things to complain about.
...like how I'm going through an epically long SPN recs list and have difficulty getting myself to do anything else. *facepalm* I MUST ENDEAVOR TO REMEMBER THAT HOMEWORK COMES BEFORE WINCHESTER PORN.
