...but boy are the crazies productive these days.
Lyssa and I recently sold our bed. It was a cheapo Ikea bed we bought when we moved into our new place. We didn't really like it, but needed something and we were broke at the time and it was cheap. It's nice, but not what we wanted, so when we got our uber tax-refund we picked up a nice new pottery barn bed with a bunch of under bed storage and it's higher off the ground (which I really like, it drives me nuts to sleep low to the ground, I'm weird).
We decided to try to sell the old bed on Craigslist. It was only 6 months old and so we were asking almost what we paid for it. We got a bunch of responses and someone was supposed to come out and look at it last night. We got an e-mail from her about 15 minutes before she was supposed to show up, so we ended up calling the next guy who asked us how quickly we could take it apart. Oh, I should mention our new bed won't be here until next week sometime. Seeing as how we'd still have the mattress I took it apart in about 5 minutes and all was well, he paid us and then I asked how he was going to get it home. "Oh, the train. I'll probably bike something back to my place as well." This is an entire wood bedframe with those ikea wooden slats and all. fucking insane. Three trips later the entire bed was at his place and our bedroom felt MUCH bigger.
Glad to have that out of my life. There's only two more pieces of furniture I want and then I'll be 100% hapy with our apartment. The first is a set of drawers for the bedroom that we can put our new TV on top of. The second is a vertical entertainment system for the living room that we can put the TV, stereo and a lot of our DVD's and other media in.
And to think I used to laugh at my mom for spending money on furniture.
p.s.--My iPod just played 6 J Church tracks in a row on random. Nice to see it's feeling my mood. It's definitely a pop punk morning.
