What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before:
went to Argentina
asked my boyfriend of 6 years what his intentions were, and if he wanted to have a family soon (his intentions were confused and shitty and not serious and no, he didn't), so I left him.
turned 24 : ) : ) : )
went to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, with my dad for a windsurfing trip
met and fell in love with someone I could seriously consider having a family with, soon
got into a serious long distance relationship
moved into my very own apartment, all by myself!!
moved to a new city (Toronto)
started a phd
graduated from my masters
(yes in that order)
yay! fuck yeah 2009, pretty packed year in retrospect...
Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
no .. hmm .. don't know what they were. Should make some this year though:
get engaged : P
stop picking at my cuticles
be more productive and organized
learn to cook some great dishes and be all domestic and shit
Did anyone close to you give birth?
not this year. Jadyn is 2 though!
Did anyone close to you die?
not this year ... except Allan Keast. He wasn't close to me (was a professor emeritus) ... though I did deliver his eulogy. Damn, that happened didn't it..
What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
a husband and a baby..................wistful stare
What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
ach, dates. I dunno. The day I defended my masters. Probably the 20something of sept. Jadyn said my name for the first time that day. "Aunt Boozie!!" (hug) then he typed at the exact second I was sending an email, causing me to type "here is my completed thesis, - - Susiew" ahhhhhh ... thanks kiddo.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
finishing my masters for sure. That's probably my most epic achievement for a while yet. It sucked. And is now over. WOOOOOOOO !!!!!! fuck yeah. I need to take more moments to be proud of that than I do.
What was your biggest failure?
I don't know .. maybe not ending things amicably with my horrible MSc supervisor.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
bronchitis from starting to smoke. Blargh. Thank you masters.
What was the best thing you bought?
a whole lotta awesome shit at value village
NO, NO, - - - my internet stick. Fuck that thing changed my life. Yesssss cottage thesis-writing. OMG.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
nobody's really ... I avoid people who appall me as a general principle.
Where did most of your money go?
partying down beetchez. Grabbing my 20s by the balls and not letting go, it seems.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
my amaaaaazing boyfriend omg i love him so much he is so amazing omg omg omg ... ha... seriously though. I still can't even get over the fact that I almost didn't go to Hatteras.... he is so perfect. It's been 8 months now and I really see no end for this honeymoon period. Jesus H. I mean I know it will but fuck man, I can't get enough of this dude and all i want to do is make him epically happy. I heart life.
