quixotic
i heard someone use the word quixotic (it was the ghost on the Dresden Files) and it reminded me how much I love that word.
something that isn't quite quixotic, but is absurd: the lady from the mentoring program that I participated in a few months ago final returned one of my e-mails. the program was supposed to pay $300 to all mentors. I was told that since I didn't fullfill all of the requirements (i missed the meeting where they introduced us to the kids) I would only get 1/2 of the award. I resigned myself to that. A month ago my roommates (who also mentored in the program) received their checks....I didn't. So I sent an e-mail to the lady in charge. A week later (when she still hadn't responded) I sent another. I sent her an e-mail every week until today when she finally sent me a message that said that for some reason I hadn't been processed and that i'd finally get my check in a couple of WEEKS!!!
Yeah, we'll see if that actually happens.
Despite all of that I'm still riding a high from quiting the crap-job!!!!!!!
