Dear Friends & Family,
I hope this entry finds you doing well. I am writing to share with you my heart and about an opportunity that God has given to me.
One day over a year ago I started reading a book called ‘Red Moon Rising’ by Peter Grieg. It's the story of 24-7 Prayer (an international interdenominational prayer movement), which started in 1999 in England and has since exploded to more than fifty countries. The movement is not about fancy phrases or what to say and not to say, it’s simply about honest, straight from the heart and gut communication with God. It is about incorporating all your senses in the experience and what happens when God moves in people’s lives.
During the course of reading this book, I caught the vision of this movement and the impact it could have. I also got to taste what it was like first hand when my church, Oak Harbor Community Church, opened our new church home and dedicated a room solely to prayer. That room was modeled after the 24-7 Prayer movement. I was also given the chance to organize and direct an ambient/chillout worship night at Cornerstone, a Christian music festival. My idea was to take the concepts of the 24-7 Prayer, the interactive multi-sensory experience, and mix them into the night.
So what does all this lead to? Long story short, I have had the pleasure to get to know the directors of 24-7 Prayer in the United States (David Blackwell) and in Canada (Dan King) and they have invited me to attend the 24-7 Prayer International Leaders Gathering (ILG) in Dresden, Germany, September 23rd - 25th.
Let me fill you in on what that means. Each year, leaders and friends of 24-7 gather in one place to share stories, hear hearts, and connect with what God is doing around the world. This gathering is not publicized deliberately, it is an invitation only gathering, and I have received an invitation. There will be approximately 200 people from around the world who will be there and I have been invited to be 1 out of that 200.
I don’t know if I can effectively put in type what it means to be considered and be given an invitation, but I have been speechless since receiving it. I want to be there. I believe it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. But there is one thing that stands in my way, money.
There are various cost associated to this trip - registration fees, passport, airline tickets, lodging, food, etc. All together, to be apart of the 24-7 Prayer International Leaders Gathering (ILG) in Dresden, Germany it will cost about $2000. Many of the costs, like airline tickets and lodging will go up in price as time nears. I have already stepped out in faith and started the passport process. The first need is to purchase airline tickets, which is almost half the total cost.
So this is where I need your help. I need you to help me to get to Germany and be a part of the 24-7 Prayer International Leaders Gathering (ILG). If you wish to donate there are several ways that you can send the money to me.
1. You can mail a check, money order made out to me or cash via US mail. You can email me for my address. I ask that you would let me know that you are mailing it so that I can make sure it arrives.
2. Electronically via PayPal. The email address for my PayPal account is ctucker7 [at] cinci[dot]rr[dot]com. (remove and replace the bracketed information)
More than anything, I will need prayer support. It has been many years since I have traveled to a foreign country. The world is a different place now, but I want to go because I believe prayer can change the world. Please pray for me that this dream invite can become a reality and that God will protect me as I go. Please pray that I can soak everything in and come back and share with others what I have learned and experienced.
Thanks for taking time to read my heart and for helping and praying. If you have questions please feel free to contact me, my contact information is in my profile.
My love,
Cindy
