On Wednesday night I got to talk to Dan, the head of 24-& Prayer in Canada. It was a great converstation. He wanted to know about ambient night and what I was thinking and feeling. In the midst of that converstation he mentioned to me about the international meeting and said I should ask David, the head of 24-& Prayer in the US, about it.
Well I sent David an email asking about it and on Friday I received an invitation to attend ILG (International Leaders Gathering) for 24-7 Prayer. I happen to read it while at work and I couldn't decide if I wanted to cry or hide.
The gathering is Sept. 23rd - 25th in Dresden, Germany. Yeah it's in Germany! I have been to Germany before, but I don't believe I have been to this area.
I want to go so bad. It blows my mind that they have extended the invitation to me. I mean, who the heck am I to attend. I'm just someone in Fairfield, OH trying to figure out what following God means. I dunno how to explain it but it blows me away.
At any rate, I going to have to have some converstations with people and see if they have connections to get me over there. So far flights that I have looked at range from $860 and up. Plus I don't know what the cost is for the conference, transportation, hotels, food, etc. I just know it is the chance of a lifetime.
So pray...please. I am guessing this trip could easily cost $5,000. But who knows.
Here is a piece of the letter it talks about where we will be meeting and one of the activities...
"Our venue is a hip nightclub in the middle of the trendy/student sector of Dresden called the “Neustadt”. There are more coffee bars, restaurants and record stores than you can shake a stick at. We’re also looking to rent a massive glass boat to have a Saturday night session of prayer and worship on the Elba River! As well, Dresden is a beautiful city to explore and with our location we’ll only be 10 minutes away from the old city centre. How many times in your life will you have the chance to seek God and have fun in a beautiful European city like Dresden?"
