When your chip is removed, your chi flows erratically. Your firebending will not respond properly. Sometimes it will be slow, and sluggish - like lava flowing from a mountain. Other times, it will erupt violently, like a firecracker exploding in the sky. You need to re-learn your bending control in a place where there's no chance that anyone else will get hurt. That's what the warehouse is for.
