I was growing sick of temping so last week when my assignment at a particularly boring office ran out I decided to get out there and do something I’ve been dreaming of for years. I decided to become a bike messenger.

As the previous comment-er urged, please be careful. I know one person who got hurt fairly badly while rushing about town as a bike messenger. If you don't have health insurance, get some. As it is, it sounds like tremendous fun, and I applaud your enthusiasm and joy of being an inhabitant of this city.

Good for you! I used to deliver pizzas on a bike in DC - that put me in GREAT shape. Have fun, be safe, and run over a couple of tourists for me :)
