::looks up startled from the piece of parchment as someone slam-shuts a book::
Oh, I can so understand her for wanting a time-out. But, oh shit, now I've lost track on my writing!! ::groans heavily::
I'd just as well take a break myself...

::looks over at Meridian::
I'm in!

Wonderful!
I haven't played a good game of wizard's chess in ages.
::sets up board - then looks at Runa::
I'm sorry if I interupted your writing. You're a fifth year, right?

yep, I'm a fifth year.
::moves her first pawn::
And you are new here, aren't you? How come you joined us only that late; have you moved here recently?

Yeah. My mother has some *cough*issues*cough* with my previous school - an international wizarding school. She and my father decided to move back to her family home in Ireland with my grandmother. She was the one who decided that I would be going to Hogwarts. *shrugs*
What about you? Have you been here since your 1st year?

mhm, I've been living in Britain my whole life. All my father's family have been attending this school, and all were in Slytherin.
But -- what issues does your mother have with your previous school?

I'm not entirely sure...obviously enough to have me change schools... but then again.
My mother can be a tad melodramatic at time, in my opinion. If someone looks at her wrong she'll start screaming at them. But I believe her issues were with some of the teachers. I'd have asked her, but I'd rather live with as few bruises as possible *grin*
Wow, so you've been here your whole life. It must be great to have a family history at a school.

Actually, it's not really that great, since I never got to know more of my family than my father told me. In fact, I never even met any of them.
But hey, your mother hurts you? Mine simply hates me with passion, but I don't think she would dare beat me. I guess she's too afraid of my father's or even my reaction to try and do so. I don't know what I'd do if my mother actually hit me.

Oh, no *goes red with embarrassment* My mother doesn't hit me - I was talking about emotional bruises. She certainly knows how to scream. *laughs* I'm sorry I gave you the wrong impression.

*blushes fiercely* whoops...
But I know about emotional bruises. It's as if my mother had invented the system. *smiles grimly*

*notices clock above fireplace* Hey, look, it's dinnertime already! Come on, let's finish that game later.
