the drums have been tracked. about 8 songs in total, all with a 3-take-or-less rule. there will probably only be 4 finished songs on the disk.

it's funny, i've never really had the perspective to appreaciate how much of a decent drummer Graham actually is. i knew he was pretty good, but i never realised how good. because most of the time he's playing, i'm too busy playing to actually notice what he's doing, and every other recording we've done bites in comparison.
unfortunatly, due to limitations of microphones and holes to plug microphones into, the guitar, bass and vocals all shared one track. which is unfortunate, because esentially, the "live" guitar and bass - performance wise - are pretty solid. too bad they sound squeeky and are clouded with each other and half arsed vocals.

at least i don't have a job to get in the way while i mix this thing and track the rest of the bass, vox, and guitars. if only i had a more adept button-monkey to watch the meters while i try to get a chunky bass sound. and if only i had a better set of speakers to listen back to it all than the ones i've had since i was 17 years old.

so now my home studio resembles a synthetic fauve/cubist pasta dish of some description: the noodles themselves are black microphone and instrument cables, the sauce is made from notepads sprinkled with the herbs of FX pedals and empty guitar cases. and the garnish is made of inverted couches and mattresses suspended from the ceiling.
