I’m re-grouping. Sorry.

I’ve been meaning to say: ages ago I saw the Rousseau exhibit at the Tate Modern (now finished). It was a treat for a day-dreamer like myself. Although he’s most famous for his jungle scenes, this was my favourite of the set:

That is also my favorite Rousseau painting. I love the detail of the hidden face in the window to the left. Such a melancholy and yet hopeful painting.... Plus, it's the on the cover of a wonderfully fun book by Raymond Queneau, Pierrot Mon Ami.

I love the detail on the branches in this painting, it's just exquisite, creepy and infinite.

Not familiar with the Queneau book...I shall investigate.
