Recasting?

Per Phil LaMarr's facebook, auditions are being taken for several key characters.

This fills me with nerd rage.

I pray that this is a hoax.

"It's a negotiating ploy by 20th Century Fox studio. It's the same thing they did w/ the Simpsons several years ago. They're hoping to scare the actors into accepting lower pay.
They don't think that it matters to the audience who is doing the voices. If people's emails don't convince them, maybe they'll find out at the Comic-Con panel next week."

Should we get an email petition going?

Might I suggest an email campaign so overwhelming that the casting director can't even find any actual auditions in the deluge? In addition to hardcore Futurama fans, who obviously will go to any length to stop this, help could be recruited from all corners of the Internet.

For example, I'm sure the angry Terminator fans who threw the results of American Idol via autodialing software would be delighted to get liquored up and have another go at FOX. Firefly fans aren't done being angry yet -- maybe the casting director would enjoy mp3s of The Ballad of Joss. And of course don't forget the fans of Dark Angel, The Lone Gunmen, Drive, and The Tick.
