The past couple of months have been more of the same - all work and no very little play.
Usually when work is crazy, I come out of the experience with something to show for it. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case this time around. Most of my time has been spent doing presentations and/or attending sometimes-barely-relevant conferences. It isn't all bad...there is a conference in Orlando at the end of next month (which should at least grant me some exciting beach time), and there is always the exciting annual trip to D.C. (which should allow me some exciting C. Brett time).
Things on the co-habitation front are going swimmingly. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if I would be in this particular living situation, I probably would have had a mild heart attack and then laughed once revived. Maybe things are going well because he still finds my neurosis eccentricities charming? I suppose only time will tell on that one.
One of the best things about Matthew and I living together? I now have someone who is more or less obligated to go to movies with me! Sunday is the only day we both have off, and we have made a habit of going to a movie on Sunday afternoon. Sometimes our film choices are good (see:
Zodiac,
300) and sometimes they are....well...questionable (see:
Dead Silence,
The Number 23). We have a good time either way. This upcoming weekend's film?
Blades of Glory. Two words:
Jenna Fischer!
The plan is to go home for Easter dinner next weekend. This will be the first trip home since Grandma died and I do not know what to expect. I'm sure it will be at least somewhat difficult. My aunt Jamie from Indiana passed away a couple of weeks ago and so we have that going for us, too. If deaths come in threes, I wonder who will be next? */start blaphemous and horrible dying family member joke* I at least hope they have the good sense to die over the Easter weekend, so they come back....zombie-style, like Jesus! */stop blaphemous and horrible dying family member joke*
I'm a little torn on whether or not I should get tickets for
this. He's hilarious (and "Back in Black" is one of my favorite segments on the Daily Show), but will it be worth it? Matthew hipped me to
this band coming to the Vaudeville Mews. We're currently in decision-making on that one as well. I really like the Mews as a venue and haven't seen a show there in quite awhile, so I'm very pro at this point. I'll keep you posted on these events as details develop. Haha!
If I have to dish out a weekend reccomendation for you, I must suggest you watch
this. Trust me on this. *start bad sex joke* You will wet yourself....in more ways than one! */stop bad sex joke>
