Yeah, it takes me this long to think about this stuff.
My New Years Resolutions
Among a couple of small, insignificant, personal, or difficult to implement resolutions (like, "being a nicer person while still maintaining my integrity"), I have implemented the following two resolutions.
1. Practice guitar more.
I've already started on this one by signing back up for guitar lessons. I've also created a grade-school sticker system. I have my practice sheet up in my room. The goal, really, is to practice 4-5 times per week. This would be really easy if I didn't visit with the boyfriend every weekend.
2a. Be Healthy (Go to TKD)
Last semester I was honestly kinda shitty about going to Tae Kwon Do. However, now that I'm in the advanced class (which meets later), I have few excuses not to go. The goal here is 2-3 times a week (It only meets 3 times a week, so..)
2b. Be Healthy (Stop eating out)
This is only enforced for 5 meals per week. That is, lunches Monday-Thursday, and supper on Wednesdays. All other weekday meals are accounted for. Weekends don't count, because that's just not feasible considering I'm not always at home. The goal is to eat out as little as possible. This is more difficult, because I think it's kinda tough to find stuff to pack for lunch at the co-op. I've also gotten slightly turned off to bento because my boxes tend to pick up smells really fast (even if I'm *not* reheating anything). So, it's sloppy, fast lunches from here on out. I also bought a few lock & lock boxes which are smell-proof and stain resistant (of course, be careful with tomatoes). This also requires me to shop at the grocery store more. Hopefully I can handle it.
Sticker system for this one too. Plus, I need to get better about *remembering* things when I pack them.
Also..Doctor Who (the new series) is amazing. I can't believe it's taken me so long to start watching it. I've only seen 3 episodes of Series 1, but I can tell you..it's amazing.
Now I'm going to watch more All Creatures Great and Small. Hey, it's related. It has Peter Davison it it, AKA the Fifth Doctor.. well, sans
crazy suit, of course.
Edit(1:27AM): I found my resolutions for 2007, so I'll discuss them behind the cut..
1. Go to the library biweekly. Yeah right. Totally not even interested in this one anymore
2. Try a new recipe every week and write down at least the good ones in some sort of electronic format. Every week is kinda tough, but I've been trying out a heck of a lot of recipes, though maybe not doing an awesome job documenting them
3. Learn to make bread I totally did this one! I'm not amazing, but I *can* do it.
4. Learn to lead climb
5. Go to the climbing gym at least once a week Climbing got super impossible once I got back to school. Maybe I'll do it again in the summer, but TKD has kinda taken up all of my time/energy. And that's okay, you know?
6. Go camping more(!!): Nope.
7. Play more console games. Hahahaha. Totally did this one.
8. Try to eat healthier/more natural foods (i.e. no frozen dinners, eh? Gross.) I've done this too, sweet.
9. Stay sane Ehhh..maybe. Probably not.
10. Try 5 new clubs at school. Well, I tried one, and it worked out well. I think I do need to try some more, but I'm sure it was my extreme boredom last year which caused such ambitious resolutions.
