(a late) #LetsGoItsHelloAndGoodbye project - day 1 (review)

Aug 03, 2014 00:29

his time I would like to write review about a manga that I bought just a week ago
the tittle is 'KICK! - We Can Change' by Nanajima Nana, it's originally a 2007 published manga at Japan, but I bought the Indonesian 4th Edition (the Indonesian edition first published in 2009)
yes, I always late to like something ;p
there are three stories in the book, but I wouldn't write the review for all of the stories, only the main story 'KICK!'
before write the review, allow me to tell a little story
I bought this manga at convenience store near my grandma's home, at first I didn't want to buy manga, I only want to bought a drink, but because the cashier is so crowded I go to the book section to look if there's a JPOP magazine
but the manga took my attention with the "We Can Change" in it's tittle
when I read the preview at the back cover I have an urge to buy it because I feel that sometimes I have same condition like the main character
but because I bought this manga I start to look for manga(s) with the similar theme, I need save money for buy it tough ._.
after that I found two mangas so far, I think I may also write the review about those manga later
oh! and one more thing, I already draw a character from 'KICK!', I'll upload it at deviantart later as the part of the #LetsGoItsHelloAndGoodbye project

jaa... let's started with the 'KICK!' review!

Tittle: KICK!
Author/Mangaka: Nanajima Kana
Main Character(s): Minami Kanaki & Sangusa Ageha, senior high school freshman
Side Character: Tsujimura-kun, I don't know his first name ._.

the stories is divided to three episodes, it's about Minami, who couldn't say no just because she doesn't want to be hated
she couldn't say no even in her heart, she doesn't like it
until there's new student named Ageha in her class
Ageha is a person that like to be alone and always 'kick' all the people that wants to be close with her
but it's not without a reason...

even Ageha doesn't like it, Minami always try to get close to Ageha because Minami adore Ageha who could say everything she wants unlike Minami who couldn't do that
they start getting close when Minami could say honestly to Ageha how does Minami truly feels about Basketball tournament
when both Minami and Ageha talk at the rooftop of the school building Ageha remember the reason why she doesn't want to get close to anyone
also in the rooftop Minami said that she will be a nurse and Ageha should be a doctor

their friendship become cutely awkward when Minami think that Ageha liked Tsujimura-kun
Tsujimura-kun is Minami's friend since junior high school
Minami start to try make Ageha become close with Tsujimura-kun to the point Minami doesn't even realize that he like Tsujimura-kun too

in the summer vacation, Ageha is moved school again, Minami doesn't know it until their teacher told Minami the day Ageha will moved
before the train leave both Ageha and Minami finally could say honestly about how does they really feels about each other and about Tsujimura-kun
they both believe that they'll meet each other again someday

In the end of the manga, there's a side story about Minami and Ageha that finally really meet each other, it's when Minami is already become a nurse and Ageha become a doctor, the ending of this side story is kinda cute in my opinion

what I could take from this story:
  • No matter how bad you get hurt by someone you treasured, you must open your heart to another person and starts a new, we don't know if someone will be the person that will you treasure as we grow up because not everyone will be the same as people we used to know, to know that we must 'get up' and try harder, let the past be the past
  • No matter how painful it will be to other, sometimes it's better to tell what did you really felt than just smile and tell that you'll be alright, don't afraid to be hated, because there's always be someone that accept you with all of your most honest feeling
