[ Niou's settling onto a bench when he spots L, and the thought that flashes through his mind is 'holy shit, please don't let this one talk to me.' He doesn't leave, though - he'll let him look. He crosses his legs delicately once he's seated, and pulls out his 'Gear to fiddle with it. ]

[Unfortunately, even though L's just not the type to flirt, Niou might have some trouble getting rid of the guy. He generally sees anything short of a protestation as an invitation to go right on ahead.]

I haven't seen you around before. Which is strange because those heels probably increase your potential viewing radius significantly. Same principle as a lighthouse, really. The tallest lighthouse I know of is called Jeddah Light; it's in Saudi Arabia and it's 436 feet tall, which is roughly 72.6 times taller than you are.

Don't you like them? As manmade structures go, they're imposing and relatively inoffensive. I've actually always thought they looked comforting.

But there's no comparison. You're much smaller than a lighthouse, obviously. I was more implying that your height increases your visibility, which is the same principle that lighthouses operate under.

[ Niou's mouth opens again, unbidden, and closes just as uselessly. He speaks without thinking, his feminine voice thus far still intact. ]
