[ When the ‘Gear flickers on, it shows a dizzying height from the ground as whatever is commandeering it rushes headfirst through a tree before slowly drifting back down toward ground level again. When the feed’s stabilized itself to something that’s more or less recognizable to the human eye, you get a nice view of reimprovise futariniousama loseyoursenses traversing the streets of what appears to be Goldenrod.
Fuji has a snoozing Quilava on his shoulder. He also appears to be talking animatedly to Yukimura. As the camera wanders closer, there is a snippet of conversation - ]
- black and yellow stripes, and stingers on its forearms. Its pre-evolution form sort of looks like a yellow alien-head, and before that, there’s a caterpillar with a horn on its head.
I’ve always thought of insects as fragile things. [ Yukimura, for his part, looks intrigued. ] Some Pokémon here breathe fire, don’t they? And I’m having trouble imagining how an insect could be effective against any particular Pokémon on the power triangle.
I was effective against your mo- [ Niou cuts himself short without even looking at Yukimura. That was just a bad idea and a bad habit all rolled into one. ] You're right, though. That and 'Normal.' How the hell's that supposed to be effective against anything?
[ Fuji tilts his head, and frowns almost pensively. ]
Yes, well, didn’t you have that fish a little while back, Niyuu? Maybe- [ And that’s about as far as he gets, for just then, there is a blinding flash of light and a noise that sounds suspiciously like the Pokémon evolution theme.
Fuji’s eyes fly wide open, and the camera catches him looking behind him, vaguely surprised before he's suddenly face-planted into the snow with a very large and very heavy Typhlosion sitting on his back, blinking sleepily.
The tennis players stare.
There is a long pause before a very feeble and very unintelligible protest comes from somewhere under the fire-type. If one stares hard at the bottom right corner of the video screen, one might see Fuji’s outstretched hand twitch. ]

[ ... The typhlosion yawns.
The silence stretches for a few moments longer before a quiet snicker breaks it. It doesn't take much more for Niou to break out laughing, doubled over in the street. ]
