Well, tobacco was used as an enema. They stuck it up the butthole. It was supposed to help the bowel and colon, as well as revive those who had been drowned, suffocated, frozen, or had convulsions or fits.
Oh, don't worry. It was back in what... the 16th century, I believe. What commodity history teaches you.... oh, it can be fun at times like these. Or you could learn what color the tobaccy leaves were, and how to grow them (ick!).
