I'm actually exhausted from watching that movie TOO HARD. It was a sport.
Okay reading the book right before the movie was AN AWFUL IDEA LOL. I spent the beginning of the movie being VERY CONFUSED because they changed EVERYTHING, but once I got it into my head that it was actually more fanfiction than I was prepared for, it was pretty good.
I had too much fun watching that movie. It was awful because they showed previews for Sherlock Holmes and Where the Wild Things Are and so I started shitting myself even before the movie actually started. I AM SO EXCITED FOR MATRIX SHERLOCK HOLMES WITH ROBERT DOWNEY JR AND JUDE LAW OH MY GOD it's going to be awful BUT SO GOOD. Like Speed Racer good.
♥ I'm pretty sure my favorite parts of the movie were Ginny on her knees, not once but twice and Harry Potter trippin balls on Felix Felices acid. But seriously? "DEAR ROOM OF REQUIREMENTS, I REQUIRE A BLOWJOB..."
♥ Runners up include Cormac McLaggen licking his fingers seductively at Hermione, Harry and Ron bein bros, Ron being a baller at Quidditch, and broomsticks being so much more phallic than they've ever been. Also of note was Slughorn's amazing ability to make hilarious faces.
♥ I also actually really liked Narcissa, even though she was Cruella DeVille. She brought out the motherly, loving qualities of a Death Eather and it was a lot easier to be empathetic towards her. Also DRACO WAS SO GOOD, and the Vanishing Cabinet scenes were very well done albeit TOTALLY WRONG LOL. I...still am upset that the Order basically knew what Draco was up to the ENTIRE TIME.
♥ But it's okay because Draco was able to make a face that looked exactly like :C
♥ Voldemort's two actors were phenomenal, I fucking love the new teenage Voldemort they got. He was extremely accurately beautiful and ominously charming. ♥ UGHHH I just wish there was more of him!
♥ The only other part that was spot on IMO was the Inferi scene. It was exactly how I imagined it, and I'm a big weenie and screamed when the hand first came out of the water.
X Other than that NOTHING WAS ACCURATE, but once they finished messing everything up on the drawing board, they did a phenomenal job bringing everything to fruition. All of the shots were beautifully composed and the pensieve scenes were very well thought out. Even the entirely new fight scene was dazzling.
X I just...wish they hadn't left some important things out. Like the fact that there is an entirely new Minister of Magic! And the entire fight scene at the castle? And idk why they couldn't have Harry use his Invisibility Cloak as much as he did in the book...or why it couldn't have been Tonks who found him on the train? OR WHY THE ORDER WASNT IN THE MOVIE AT ALL?
X And I wish Daniel Radcliffe wasn't awful!!!! It was funny to notice that he had very little lines wherever possible because he's so bad.
I realize I'm being overly critical, but I think they made some pretty odd choices when writing up the movie. Huge Changes aside, I had a really great time and I'm pretty sure the next time I see it, it'll grow on me a lot because I know what to expect now.
And I def want to use that shoelace pickup line someday. ;D heheh
PS Why are gingers more genetically inclined to be magical?! And twins??
