Redeeming feature of the evening: PBS ran a documentary about Georgina Beyer immediately after the debate. She won election right as I was transitioning, and was a great inspiration; I have even more respect for her for having transitioned way back in the bad old days, and stuck it out, and for having gotten herself off the streets and made a successful life for herself.
