Nausicaa comes to North America! With Patrick Stewart as Yupa and Uma Thurman as Kushana, no less.
'Course, what I really want is the whole manga series done as four live-action films, or a miniseries, or something, with someone of Peter Jackson's caliber at the helm. (And with enough of a clue to steadfastly refuse to Hollywoodize the ending!) Or an OAV series from Ghibli, for that matter, not that Miyazaki is ever likely to go for it. But a DVD with a decent set of English subtitles (so I can show it to friends who balk at watching my Chinese-subtitled version with a script in their lap) makes a nice start.
