Mom decieded yesterday that we needed to go upgrade phones, get new plans, etc. yesterday. got a new phone, same number.
got home and decided that I'd try to use the infrared thing between the phone and the computer. it wasn't working so I took a guess I needed new drivers or something for the IR port. so I go onto microsoft and start searching. couldn't find them, but did find some that microsoft "recommened" as optional...one of them being a new video driver. I didn't bother to look at it too much, since their site reads all the specs for your computer when go to update it. so now I've installed a video driver that windows no longer recognises and that the graphics card doesn't use. do windows automatically uses the hardwired default settings. (4K color on a 640x820 screen) and I can't fix it, tried a system restore, said I didn't have enough memory, so deleted some stuff and tried again, only this time all the restore points are gone. so I'm fucked there. I can't figure out how and where the new drivers have gone. I can't get it to use the old ones. I think some other stuff got fucked when I tried updating the .NET framework also.
....so now I'm looking for a new harddrive for this and an external to backup on some stuff...basically start all over again.
