Happy Saturday, y'all. It's gloomy (but still sunny) here. I had plans to go out later, but I'm not very motivated to shower and stuff. It's been a nice day of Farscape and Duke (W), and I'm comfy in my grubbies.
= Yikes, sorry about the Kansas game,
powrhug. :( But Syracuse lost today too, their second loss, so you could keep your ranking.

http://www.slate.com/id/2281146/ I *like* using two spaces. I like how it looks, and it's how I learned to do it when I first started typing when I was little (I started learning when I was 3, so it's a hard habit to break). I don't do it all the time, but I try, and usually, my thumb works on its own accord and does all the spacing how it was taught as a child. Hmph.
= I find it so charming that Jenna Fischer (aka Pam Beesley, The Office) doesn't have a Facebook, doesn't have a Twitter, but instead posts adorable little blogs on MySpace. It's like she's in a little bubble where these other social networks were never invented. So cute.
= I have a zit inside my nose. Sorry for the gross, but it HURTS, people!
= I've been trying to catch as many of the big award movies as I could this season. Have you seen them? I enjoyed The Social Network, but I don't think it was the best film of the year. And as much as I love Justin, I don't think he was as good in the role as a lot of people do. But maybe it's just because I've seen so many interviews of his, so his "acting" feels much more obvious to me.
My favorite movie of the year was Inception, which I think lost all its momentum from voters because it came out so long ago. True Grit was good, but predictable. The Fighter has some spectacular performances (Bale deserves every award he's up for), but little else. I liked the direction and photography of Black Swan and Portman was great, but I feel like it would've benefited from more actual story. The King's Speech was just wonderful all around, Colin Firth is very deserving of everything he gets. Also enjoyed The Town and like everyone else, I adored Toy Story 3. The Kids Are All Right was okay. It had really good performances, but the plot itself was just really disappointing. Documentaries I would recommend would be Exit Through The Gift Shop and Catfish, both really engaging and interestingly put together.
I still need/want to see 127 Hours, Rabbit Hole, and Blue Valentine (which is what I was supposed to go see tonight).
= A couple of shows I left off my TV viewing list:
-- How I Met Your Mother, which I'm really enjoying this year. Tell me the last couple of episodes didn't make you tear up? Oh, Marshall. The "I'm not ready for this" is what kindof tore me apart. That's exactly how it feels.
-- Boardwalk Empire was really well put together with great acting, but I'm gonna need a little more oomph next year to keep me interested.
-- And I can't believe I forgot The Vampire Diaries! I'm not totally addicted to it or anything - let's face it, I mostly just watch for Damon - but I appreciate the fast-paced storytelling and the attention they give all their characters. I hope it doesn't burn out too fast.
-- American Idol is back and I'm enjoying the new chemistry so far with JLo and Steven Tyler. I also like that the audition episodes are showing more good singers instead of focusing on all the bad ones they let through.
-- I caught the pilot for Harry's Law. It's a little heavy-handed, as David E. Kelly shows tend to be. It didn't suck as much as critics said it would, but I still prefer my lawyers to own bowling alleys and not shoe stores. #IMissEd
I'm off to decide what I want to do with my evening. I have a feeling I have a date with Season 3 of Farscape. Watching new shows all in one shot is kinda like eating Pringles for me.
Have a good one! :)
