= I just spent the last 20 minutes or so watching the Immigration protest walk down the street I live/work on heading toward downtown. Most of them were Junior High kids. Some of them creepily have the Mexican flag bound around their face like their about to go rob a bank or something. There's also a huge group protesting on the freeway, they've just completely taken it over and won't let anyone drive. I'm all for fighting for rights and all that, but um, can't you let people get by? My boss, meanwhile, is standing out there giving them the thumbs up. lol
= All this happened after I caught a guy trying to bolt an Mayoral election banner on the front of our building, insisting that he had the okay from the owner. Um, hi. I work for the owner. Plus, double hi, we're a non-profit, we can't endorse anyone even if we wanted to. He was being all crabby about it too. Feh. I know more than you, go away.
= Happy birthday to
dotcitameteora!! Sorry these wishes are late, but I hope your yesterday was wonderful. :)
= I was in the mood to buy myself something yesterday, so I went to Target and bought a new, adorable rug that has blues and greens and creams and it looks gorgeous under my couch. I also bought a.. jar. A very large, blue jar. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing with it. But I wanted it. And it was sufficiently expensive so that I felt like I'd spoiled myself. So there ya go. I bought a big rug and a jar. And I'm totally okay with that. Oh, I found a pic of the rug at their website.
But it doesn't do it justice.
My rug is 5'x8' and is much brighter than this picture. Not neon green or anything, but just bright and happy and colorful. It goes really nicely with my blue walls and my brown carpet, it ties things together nicely. I loooooove it so much.
=
mp3_share and
ysi_leftovers have done wonders to bolster my mp3 folder. yip!
= This fandom/slasher primer for SG1 might be -- no, no, IS -- the funniest thing I've read in a really long time. I was crying and having to stop a few times to catch my breath because I was laughing so hard. It's not even just for slashers, because I don't necessarily consider myself one for that show. Just.. if you like the show at all and if you've seen the entire series, it's one of the most entertaining reads EVER. And Jessa, you can't read it because it makes heavy and hilarious references to season 9. But for anyone out there interested, this is Must Read LJ:
SG1 for the slashers, a beginner's guide OR how Daniel learned to stop worrying and love the bomb = I can't believe people are still talking about Chris Daughtry's "I Walk The Line" rendition
this way.

= I've spent most of the day re-organizing the entire key safe. Yeah, my fingers hate me right now. :(
