Been so busy with work, I don't seem to remember a time when I don't think bout work. This is bad, need to really take time off to just relax.
I took 6th of May off, just to chill and bring my friend who's visiting from Newcastle, Australia. Should be fun, pretending to be a tourist is always the best.
Should be sleeping, yet here I am on my blog, trying to revive a mummified thing.
Been listening to plenty of Gershwin stuff lately, it's only now i know that it's actually by Gershwin, I know most of the songs through the years of listening. Interesting, I think Ira Gershwin definitely has a humorous way with words. Listening to the lyrics always makes me giggle. George Gershwin is brilliant too, I could never get tired of listening to Rhapsody in Blue over and over again. There's this lazy, sexy drawl to the whole song, specially the trumpets are played with the mute on. The starting clarinet solo is just long and drawn out, nice. Need I mention the piano solo in it? Man, wish I could play like that. Time to brush off the dust on my piano and start playing again. That might be able to stave off carpel tunnel syndrome come later years.
