Post-reading thoughts...

Well, first off, it's amazing to me that I've felt like writing in this thing not once, but twice within 7 days. It's a miracle folks!

Without going into spoilers, I'm really happy with the way the book turned out, actually. Despite the epilogue feeling rushed, there was a sense of completeness. I'll be sad that there are no other books to follow, but eventually, I'll go back and re-read them all.

In other news, I saw HP:OoTP over the weekend as well. Pretty good, but as you would expect from the shortest movie, even though it was the longest book, there were entire subplots that went missing, and as cynmoon pointed out, that's going to make some of the things in Movie 7 dicey to figure out. The other thing that kinda worries me about the future movies is that, if they don't speed up production, Harry is going to be a 21 year old, playing a 17 year old (and that hasn't been pulled off very successfully in the past, at least not by males). I'm not saying he's going to turn into James Earl Jones, but a deeper voice won't help him get into character very easily.

My entire weekend felt shot, with me spending the afternoon at cynmoon's parents house for Friday afternoon, then staying up until 1am for the book release. Work on Saturday was terrible, and I napped most of the afternoon. Sunday was filled with me reading the book, under penalty of severe pain from cynmoon, as she had already finished the book, and wanted to talk to me about it. Having to cover for my cow-orker on Monday didn't help matters, and seeing the Movie killed the rest of the day on Monday. Blah.
