It's been a long time...

... since my last update. I don't know what it is, but for some reason, I can't seem to force myself to post on a daily basis. Most of the time, it's because I don't have much to say, or much I think is worth saying. So, I'm forcing myself to post now, and I apologize in advance for all the inane running on I'm have a high propensity to do.

cynmoon made the tastiest stew last night, which I am eating leftovers of right now. Her cooking is damn fine, even if she insists it's only mediocre. I've got to say that overall, I'm finally moved in comfortably. There are a few things irking me about the place (like our abnormal heating/cooling issues, and the fact that our router seems to be having some major attitude problems), but other than that, it's just a great place.

I finally managed to watch Firefly in it's entirety. I hadn't even seen an episode when Serenity had come out in theatres, but now I think it is by far one of the spiffiest series that ever graced the television screen. I was never really a big fan of other works by Joss Whedon, but I really liked the Firefly "universe". The acting was (for the most part excellent), and the writing style was a bit more relaxed. The jokes in Buffy and Angel seemed more forced, wheras Firefly had almost the same flow as what I found to be excellent about The West Wing, and Sports Night, which still remain two of my favorite shows (both written by Aaron Sorkin).

The other thing I've been watching lately, is Family Guy. I bought the DVDs for Seasons 1-3, and have been watching a few episodes every night. The best part of owning the DVDs is the commentary tracks on select episodes (though I wish they were on every episode). They point out some really absurd things, and while they're not in character voices that often, when they are, it's hilarious. Somehow Chris talking about the finer points of theatre is hilarious to me, as is Lois saying "What the fuck?"

The only other new thing for me is that I went ahead and wiped my PC, reinstalled everything, and installed Gentoo Linux on a seperate partition. Not sure how much I'm going to use it, but hey, it's intereting to have, and it's not like I didn't have the room to waste on my 300GB HD. Heh, almost did something that normally pisses me off. Gb is gigabit, GB is gigabyte. Gb * 8 == GB. Just an FYI. Then again , 300GB drives are actually 286GB drives, thanks to marketing.

Speaking of marketing, did you know that Fallujah is in Afganistan? Yeah, I'll talk about that next time.
