What a jam-packed, fun-filled day :D
~.: Dad came down yesterday for family weekend, and we had alot of fun. Yesterday we didn't hang out much, but we did go out to dinner. That was pretty cool. This morning I got up at 6:30 to get ready for the 5k Fun Run/Walk. I didn't run the whole way, but I ran about a mile (I think :x) and then just walked the rest. My lungs felt like they were gonna fall out or something.
~.: We went through a nearby park that had a bird sanctuary. It was really pretty, but I had to keep up with the rest of the group, so I couldn't stay behind and enjoy it. But it was okay. Dad and I went back later to watch the geese and the ducks and the koi.
~.: After the Fun Run we ate brunch at the dining hall. I was bragging about the hot chocolate, but for some reason it wasn't all that great today. I was very disappointed.
~.: Then we went back to the hotel where he was staying so he could shower and change. Afterwards we went to Wal-Mart. I originally went for groceries but ended up getting two new pairs of pants, a t-shirt, and a really cute sweater. And after the hour it took us to actually get through Wal-Mart, I still had to go back a second time to get the conditioner and soup I'd forgotten the first go-round. -.- It was okay though.
~.: I think after that we had lunch. Barbequed chicken sandwiches pwn.
~.: Finally after lunch, we walked back through the park to see the geese. This one duck kept following us around the pond. He was really cute; we named him Felix. :3 He's so awesome he even has his own theme song. I don't know what it is though. 8D
~.: The bonfire at the end was a great way to end the weekend. We had s'mores and just sat around watching the flames jump around. It was really cool.
~.: That's pretty much my experience of family weekend in a nutshell. It was really busy, and I'm so tired right now, but it's a good tired. The "I've been productive today" kind of tired. -nodnod-
~.: And I have a new CD. Dad gave me a copy of his Kevin Max CD (Kevin Max was the lead singer from dcTalk). It's really good, but the two songs I like the most I have no idea what they're about. One of them has the most interesting lyric: Now you've got the body, use that body to get your way.
~.: Whatever that means. I think Kevin Max has gone the way of being crossover. Which is sad, cuz I'm into the overtly Christian music. But he's got a cool voice, so it's okay. -nodnod-
