~.: So, I'm totally shocked that I made my writing goal for tonight. It was a really good session of writing too. Did a few word wars with Kaye, wrote about 4000 words, and reached my 10 thousand word goal. I actually beat it. :D

“I just want to know you're going to be okay, Gabriel.”
“I'm not okay! Why can't you accept that?”
“Because I'm not okay either!”
I stared at her, and saw a tear sliding down her cheek.
“I'm not okay either, Gabriel. One of us has to be okay.”
It seemed to me that, in the universe, there was nothing stronger than a mother's words, or a mother's tears. When my mother began to cry, my resolve broke, and I found myself reaching towards her, pulling her to me, and holding her in an embrace.
“It just means that we'll have to be not okay together.”
She wrapped her arms around me, stroking my hair.
“We'll figure this out,” I told her. “It's going to be okay. It might not be okay now, but it will be. You'll see okay? It'll be alright.”
And I rocked her while she stroked my hair, standing beneath a gray sky and underneath the rain, while my forgiveness rested on Father Mason's lips inside a dark wood-paneled box.
