~.: So I'm sitting here, attempting to read, and all I can think about is how my job wants to put my life in danger for its stupid trainings. For example, for the CPR training, I'm expected to work my normal 8 hours after being awake for 8 hours (I usually get up around 4 in the afternoon), and then drive about two hours in rush hour traffic to Arlington for an 8-hour training, and then sit in rush hour traffic on the way back for about and hour and a half. By the time the training is over, I'll have been awake for a solid 24 hours, and they expect me to operate a multiple-ton potential killing machine.
~.: When Anjaulyeke gets here, I will first clarify if this is indeed the case. If it is, I will then ask her who is responsible for scheduling the trainings. I will then make sure I have the necessary information to threaten them without risking my job, and have a good, long talk with them, and hopefully I'll force them to realize that it's not an issue of getting beauty rest- it's an issue of risking the actual lives of staff members (even if it's just two) so that our wonderful non-profit organization can continue to receive non-profit from the state. I have never been this bothered about work before. I do not appreciate my life being put in danger for someone else's paycheck. Guh, this just irks me so much I can barely put it into words.
