~.: So I feel that, in light of my three-day absence from the interwebnetz and my longer than that absence from LJ, I should probably give some sort of update on my life. Kingsfest seems a pretty good place to start, though I already know I'm going to leave quite a bit out. I'm sure I don't need to go into detail about what time we set out and which ride we went on and what time and what we had for lunch. I will, however, state that the hotel room I reserved was a pleasing surprise. After I reserved it, I decided it would be a good idea to read some reviews for this particular hotel. The reviews weren't very encouraging to say the least. ^^; Things like "lobby smelled weird" and "cockroaches" and "AC doesn't work" stuck out the most in my mind. I was expecting the worst. Pretty much, it was kind of awesome, compared to what I was expecting. I didn't think the lobby smelled weird at all, I didn't see a single cockroach (or any other uninvited vermin/guest for that matter), and the AC worked a little too well. The beds were comfortable, and I think we managed to fit everyone into one, even when my mom got there.
~.: We got to meet two of James' friends from some MMO he plays (I think it's an MMO) and they were pretty cool. They were both really nice, and of course Facebook friendship ensued. The bands we got to see (I only cared about Skillet, Family Force 5, and Newsboys this year) were basically freakin' awesome. I caught the tail-end of Jeremy Camp (>D), which was okay too- still not my favorite. The Newsboys have a new frontman- Michael Tait from dcTalk. I'm still not sure how I feel about that. :/ He attempted to sing in Peter Furler's style, but it just wasn't the same. It wasn't Australian, and there was a little too much soul in his voice. On the upside, we had the best seats this year. Two rows in front of the platform where the entire band decided to chill for about fifteen minutes (they weren't really chilling- Michael Tait was doing some talking thing and there was music and I SAW HIS BOXERS LOL). Oh yeah. I was less than six feet away from the Newsboys. It was basically the most awesome thing ever. 8D My only disappointment is that it wasn't Peter Furler. D:
~.: But really, the highlight of my trip (and probably the highlight of my year) was my mom coming all the way down to see the concerts with us. It was so weird for me to be seeing her not in New York. And I loved it. Every second of it. It made the entire Kingsfest trip this year so much more awesome. I didn't get Peter Furler, but I did get my mom. And the autographs of Family Force 5 on a t-shirt. I also bought a Skillet t-shirt and a really pretty sarong (I couldn't help it- the mannequin wore it so well, and I've secretly always wanted one 8D).
~.: And I'm at work, finishing up the second half of my double shift. My sleep today is going to be so awesome. Hopefully there will be room for me in the bed (I'm pretty sure Layne is still going to work in the morning, but I have no idea what her and Becky's concert plans were for last night/today).
~.: In other news, the weird twinge in my throat has moved to the other side. :/ I really wish I could figure out what it is, cuz it definitely hurts more at night when it gets all dry. It actually kind of hurts pretty annoyingly now. ><" I guess it could always be worse.
~.: My sunburn itches. 8D
