WTF, Disney?

~.: So I just got back from seeing Prince Caspian with Sarah. I'll do my best not to spoil anything in my rant here.

~.: First off, as a movie, by itself, with no preceding book, it was great. Awesome cinematography, nice drama, even some romance. As a movie that was being based off a book, it sucked. They cut out all the important parts (like Bacchus and the part where Lucy dances with the trees) and elongated or added so much unnecessary stuff (like the White Witch? She wasn't even in the book! And the romantic tension between Caspian and Susan? Caspian is supposed to be 15, and Susan definitely wasn't interested in him in the book.). They also cut my favorite part from the movie (where Aslan picks up Trumpkin and shakes him like a ragdoll). The spiritual elements that were necessary and crucial to the book I think they did a good job of keeping in the movie, and I suppose that's the most important thing. It's just that, after Disney did such a great job with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, I was expecting so much more. -sigh- Oh well ... let's see if they do any better with The Voyage of the Dawntreader.

movie, prince caspian, wtf
