Went to the pulmonary testing today. They gave me three laps of a spirometry test, then a nebulizer treatment with albuterol and norepinephrine, and then checked again. The plain test was fine, everything in the low 90%s, except for the speed with which I exhale, which was in the low 70%s. No big deal, though, since I'm hardly a marathon runner. So then they gave me the nebulizer, which first caused my head congestion to clear up to the point that my ears popped. Re-tested three times. All the volume tests go into the high 90s, and the exhalation speed hits 104%. I now score an A+ in pulmonology.
So those results go to the pulmonologist, who may decide to just leave it alone or may decide to give me an inhaler so I can be an A+ student all the time. I did notice on the way home that it is easier to get a deep breath. Enjoying that muchly.
