V and chips
Um... yeah... some random stuff:
Had moment of triumph at the weekend. A minor victory of overcoming our Britishness. We went out for brunch at a pub in Southgate on Sunday. They had my third choice (go figure), but when the food arrived the chips were rank. We complained (and by 'we' I mean 'Meg'), and they brought us shiny new chips which were much better. I know it looks like I am taking credit for the actions of another here, but I was there, and didn't say anything deeply middle class about "not making a fuss", so ,all in all, a team effort I feel.
load_of_flannel - in reference to this thread about gyms, it has been over a month, and I'm still going three or four times a week. I'm starting to notice it is having an effect (other than perpetually aching limbs). Ah yes.... This gyppo will be able to run away faster and further than ever before. Woo, and I may venture, Yay. Speaking of which, any joy on the stuff about bohemian gypsies?
Got PC rage last night, as for NO fucking reason DVDshrink started arsing me about. Actually, I think it is Nero that is messing it up. Can't reinstall my old version (again, for no real reason), and the newer version is causing an I/O clash. Anyway, am now calming down from late night RAGE.
Oh, hopefully going to see V for Vendetta this coming weekend in London. Wonder if it'll suck. Hope not. Might even make a new friend. That would be nice. Here is a pretty little poster:
I also see that King Kong cleaned up at at Empire awards. Much as I'd like to see it, I've so far avoided it due to a significant presence (I'm informed) of spiders? Anyone confirm how bad (to a 'phobe like me) this scene is?
Ooh, and finally this tidbit from Rick Macallum on Star Wars TV show:
"That’s not going to happen probably for another year and a half while we develop scripts and everything else. But it’s fantastic; we’ve got some incredible writers. It’s going to be much darker, much more character-based, and I think it’s going to be everything the fans always wanted the prequels to be. They’ll be one-hour episode. It takes place between Episodes III and IV. It’s going to be all-new characters, maybe a few bounty hunters in there to start the series off.”
