Quantum of Solace

Whilst genuinely I enjoyed it, after the phenomenal Casino Royal, QoS was something of a disappointment. I love the serious, intelligent, campless DC version of Bond, and Casino Royale was hands down film of 2006 for me. But QoS needed quite a lot less bang crash, and a lot more quiet character moments.

I suppose it works as the action dénouement of the CR story, but needed to have the measured pacing of that film to be able to stand alone.

I just hope the film makers don't reintroduce the stupid gags and gadgets elements of the pre-DC franchise in the wake of luke warm reviews of QoS - which had its problems, none of which were about bringing the films back to the daftness of the Brosnan/Moore legacy.
