Low tech: Baking our bread from scratch.
High tech: Taking a picture of the dough with my camera phone so I don't have to guess whether or not it has doubled.

For some reason that just tickles me.

That's a rather handy idea. *makes note*

Last week, I had the worst craving for pecan sticky rolls - at 7:00 at night. Not the best time to start a baking project involving yeast. >.>

However, made them the next day and they were fab. I may or may not have licked the toffee out of the baking pan. <.

Ah, the craving for yeast breads at night. How they taunt us. In a similar vein there is a type of cookie that I point blank refuse to make after about 7 p.m. Eccles cakes require 40 minutes to defrost the puff pastry, about an hour of labor to make them and fifteen minutes to bake. They are, of course, my husband's new favorite cookie. That's what I get for trying things because they sound cool.

I may eat more of the brown sugar/butter/vanilla combo when making chocolate chip cookies than is strictly required. Of course if you tell anyone I will deny it all. XD

Oooh, may I have the recipe for Eccles cakes? My daughter adores them!

>.> I also had a craving for chocolate chip cookies the other night (damn bleepin' hormones), but added a cup of old-fashioned rolled oats to make them 'healthy'. Eheh.

I'm going to post the recipe since that allows for spacing and lovely things like that.
