Ok finally a serious, and sober, college update. Lets see... classes.
Comparative Politics: This is the most boring and moronic class yet, the prof's idea of "a brief introduction" took him the majority of two class days to get through when it should have taken maybe half an hour. Plus that bloody Frenchman is taking attendance everyday! That practice alone garauntees his entrance into hell.
Diplomacy: other than the fact that I still haven't gotten all the necessary books for that class it looks to be a fun subject. But i've only had one class so far so I can't juge it too much.
German: I am finding it embarrassing that my previous learning from BHS is paying off so much, I honestly do not have to try in this class.
Chinese: Bane of my existence... please God let me pass this class.
ROTC: I got selected as the MSII (Military Student year II) class leader which means that I hopefully get a ribbon for my Class A's at the end of the semester. Lots of reading including the Armmy Field Manual for an Infantry Rifle Platoon. PT is awesome and assuming I pass the APFT on Wendsday I'll be contracting by the end of September. They haven't sent out the battalion roster yet but there is a good chance I might be a Team Leader because there are so few upperclassmen and so many freshmen. We got like 22 freshmen this year and 14 of them are on scholarship, but they all seem to be going to PT so thats really great.
Ranger Company starts thursday which means I need to try to recruit more people for it, already got a few including this new girl Nina who I just met on friday. I'll almost certainly be a Team Leader and maybe even a squad leader since we have so few upper class men in rangers.
My dorm is nice I suppose, I dont wander the halls and could frankly care less about most of the inhabitants. Its clean and my room is big; the fact that I don't have AC really doesnt concern me much with it being unseasonably cold. One facet of living where I do and being an early riser is that I get to see all the girls, and a few guys, on the Walk of Shame. I get a bit of schadenfreude from this.
My brakes for my bike broke. They seriously just snapped one day and then the next thing I knew I was going way too fast. I forsee injuries on my part.
I miss home I guess, mostly just in the sense that I can't see certain people while at school. That and rice, and my kitchen. Gott im Himmel I'm going crazy because I can't cook while at school.
