This is my new kitty, Georgia. She was brought up from Georgia (hence the name) to the SPCA for an adoption event where she wrapped her evil paws around my heart and wouldn't let go. Some of you probably saw the post I made about adopting the puppy - I actually ended up bringing her back to the rescue group because she was just too young to be left alone while I'm at work all day. I felt it was cruel to her and couldn't do it, no matter how badly I wanted a dog. I ended up at the SPCA event looking for an older dog to adopt and met Georgia instead. Anyone who knows me knows that I am pretty much the epitome of "not a cat person" but I couldn't help it. Like I said, she has evil ways.
For the whole first week that she was here she screamed all the time. After not sleeping at all I got hysterical and told everyone I hated her and had too many commitment issues to have a cat and etc, etc, etc. Seriously hysterical. I bought a calming collar and a pheromone diffuser and she stopped and after getting a few nights of sleep, I didn't hate her anymore. She has definitely taken over. Most furniture surfaces in my apartment are currently covered in aluminum foil to stop her from jumping on them and out of the nearly 700 dollars I spent on her at first, her favorite things in the world are a nylon shopping bag and the Cat Dancer...i.e. some cardboard on a wire.
Luckily, she loves other animals so my search for the right dog continues. I'm thinking about starting to save for a French Bulldog puppy. It's what I truly want and at around $3,000 a pop by the time I have enough saved, I'll probably be ready for a puppy after all. Who knows. But now I've got someone warming my feet while I decide and plan.
