today i was working for Akiva (at my internship) entering some data on the computer when i check my Purchase email to find this in my inbox:
"Congrats, Esther and Fran. As it happens, I just got the Affiliates award list in campus mail (I often don't) and they’ve awarded you $500 for the party. I assume you will be notified shortly. bb"
i can't believe we got the grant we applied for from the Affiliates program! so now we are getting paid to have a big queer dance party! i mean, a party that will bring together students, raise awareness about the LGS minor, and award outstanding students for their work over the semester.
p.s. thanks arthur, for helping me write the grant proposal!
it's soo nice out. i just want to go out skateboarding. but duh, i have to start the second half of my thesis paper on The Awakening. if i don't leave my room for the next 1-2 weeks, you now know why. i will leave for ice-cream, falafel, bike rides, and maybe the Eileen Myles poetry reading on sunday.
