(no subject)
today i met kathi at school. it was rainy and i was sleepy. i just wanted to jump in the puddles and let my feel get all wrinkly, feel my socks get all soggy in my sneakers, and hear them squeak on the linoleum floor of the humanities building. instead, we hopped around campus trying to avoid the massive ocean (the water, not the girl!) that the campus turns in to. we talked forever in our quiet voices in the library and it was the best thing ever.
today was extremely stressful but became much better after i danced in the food co-op with oscar <3 to tegan and sara. and then i got to dance again with ray at the con amore show! so good. they are so rock and roll. that was definitely what i needed.
amazing things about new orleans:
- beautiful houses from the late 1800's!! <3
- riding bikes and eating so much cheddar cheese.
- long walks with ocean and talks about riot grrrl and gender stuff after
stuffing our faces with baked potatoes from Wendy's.
- finding a waffle house!
- eating 15 craw-fish and learning to suck the snots and guts out of
them, and it being TOTALLY disgusting.
- alligators lurking in the swamp.
- eating gumbo and other authentic bayou/cajun/creole food!
- consuming so many shrimp po' boys.
- dancing at a gay club in new orleans.
- meeting a wonderful queer boy named bryan who i wanted to take
home with me and cuddle with, forever.
- lots of good late night conversations and funny pictures.
there is so much culture there. i would love to go back. i am kind of glad to be home though. weird. when do i ever say that?
