Soda Pup Canine Head

Sep 25, 2007 21:07

This is what I have so far, it's no where near done, I still have to work on symmetry, giving it ears, and proportioning, as well as figure out what to do with the muzzle. It just looks so long to me. So I posted the in progress pictures here just in case I over look something. So critique me, please and if it matters this is my second head.
Soon to be Husky/Canine head(large pictures) )

Muzzle is very long, and should be blended a bit more into the face, particularly on the sides.
The face could also use a smile! He looks so serious so far. Lower jaw would also benefit from being thicker towards the base.

Ok, but for the smile how deep do I need to carve it into the foam.

Not in the cheek area, that's not what I meant...
Here's a redline:

I'd suggest making the end of the muzzle less square, padding the join beween the muzzle and cheeks, shaping the cheeks a bit, defining the eyeholes a little more, maybe taking off a little of the forehead to avoid the dome look...

Hm... the ears might need repositioning to be more 'doggy'

Also, I like Growly's smile idea, it'd be awesome.
Anyway, I've done a couple redlines for an idea of what I'd do - see if you agree :)

Thank you the visual images are very helpful, for some reason no matter how hard I tried I couldn't figure out the how to fix the muzzle. Then again I have the flu right now so my brain isn't working completely.
