It came out very nice! The wings look nice, but I wonder about how durable they will be. Perhaps you can update us after awhile on how they're holding up! :)

Thank you! I'm actually a little curious about that myself. XD I'm confident they'll be at least as durable as real feathers would have been, but I'm not sure that's worth much since real feathers aren't exactly the sturdiest. I think they'll be okay if people don't abuse them, but you can never really count on people for that. I'll try to remember to make an update once they've got some mileage on them!

This looks GREAT! Easily one of the best gryphon costumes I've seen. The wings are cute, the feet are adorable, I could go on.

Also, as far as vision goes, what would help with that (and also to make the shaping underneath clearer) is to shave down the fur. It looks like you've just brushed it back, and while it looks nice and smooth, shaving it down will really bring out the eyes, help the vision, and generally make your nice foamwork a little clearer.

I'd like to second this! The first thing I thought was that the eyes looked a touch squinty, and that a bit of shaving around there would help fix that and improve visibility all in one go.

I agree, they do look squintier than I'd like! XD I actually tried to trim around the eyes, but I was VERY conservative with it since I was scared of taking off too much and not being able to fix it. I think I might should have another go at it now, thanks!

I have to as, what is your beak made from? I'm working on a suit that requires a beak and I like the look of yours X3

Thanks! It's made of foamies covered in paperclay, which was then sanded and painted. If you're curious, here's a WIP post I made where I went into a little more details!

Awesome, I do like that its light weight but I wonder how practical it would be for something like this: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a198/AncientRavenSTUFF/pteromaskcopy.png

Which is what I'm just starting on. Do you think that adding teeth would be an issue to such a beak construction method?

Not at all! It seems to me like since there aren't that many teeth, you could just make them out of sculpey and put them directly in the paperclay. The thing I liked best about the paperclay construction method is that it was really lightweight, so it might be good for something like that. c: I hope that helped!
