The portal opened up in the jungle, for a few moments nothing seemed to be coming through until finally Usagi stepped into the humid air. The green portal closed right after, leaving the rabbit with the strange light the sun cast through the jungle leaves. He pulled at the breathing collar before setting into the jungle

Leo had been surprised, and happy to hear that Usagi could come visit, being back in the past, even if it was only temporary. It was better then nothing.

He looked up from cleaning one of his katanas, and smiled at seeing the ronin.

"Hello Usagi-san." He said, and got up, resheathing the sword. This time around he was in good shape, that bullet burn was healed up.

Usagi smiled at the sight of Leo, tugging at the cuffs of his robe- the humidity was not the right temperature for what he was wearing.

"Leo-kun, I'm glad I find you well." he said as he carefully walked towards Leo, finally being able to see in the dimmer light of the cave. He took a seat next to the turtle, enjoying the feel of dirt beneath his hands.

He raised an eyeridge at the get up, especially all the tech looking stuff, and surmised it must of been from that future.

"Glad to see you well as well, and able to see you at all." He smiled. "Enjoying being away from all the beeping, and blinking things?"

"It is nice to be in normal surroundings." he rubbed his ears, "Everything is alive in the future. The machines move and react on their own."

He gave a sigh and un-hooked the clip holding his ears up, now that he didn't need it he was going to take advantage of it.

"I prefer my tie to...this."

"Yeah, I can bet." He agreed, tilting his head. "Sounds like one of those scifi movies." He chuckled. "I've got leaher you could tie them with, I don't know if you could take it back with you though."

"It...well it feels like one as well." without the tie holding them back Usagi's ears reacted to his expression, perking up a bit.

"It would be more comfortable then metal...I should be able to return with it. Arriving once in the future without anything on was enough!"

"It's just strips of leather." Leo said, and pulled out one of the long strings of leather, that were soft, and supple, and easy to contort. "It's not dyed or anything though." He added, and offered the ronin the brown leather string.

Usagi took the offered string, lingering enough to rub his thumb over the leather. With a grateful sigh he took the strip and tied his ears back.

"...its a surprise how much of a difference that makes."

"I can imagine" He said, as he watched the tying for a moment, before reaching to pick up the discarded clip, examining it a moment. Not vert flexible, I can see it being uncomfortable."

"Eh no it isn't. It's heavy as well." He seemed to glare at the metallic clip- though it did serve a purpose- "It's a strange metal as well with..eh...something inside it. It's almost like a cover."

"I noticed the weight to it." He said, and examined it. "Considering what you've told me of this future, it wouldn't surprise me at all." He commented

"It's some sort of communicator. Look." He leaned over, pushing a small button along the clasp. Two string thin wires popped out, "One is to hear the other I speak into." It really didn't make to much sense to the ronin, Dun had only given it to him in case he was needed while 'off-duty'. Another concept he wasn't to comfortable with.

He blinked at the wires. "Whoa, interesting." He said. "Kinda like cell phones these days I guess." He commented. Though unlike most versons of the turtles, he and his brothers never had communicators.

Usagi gave a small nod before taking the clip back and fiddling with it until the wires disappeared.

"Yes, only I can't ignore this as easily as I could those phone contraptions."

Going up on your ears, I can see how it would be hard to miss it." He said in agreement. "But I'm glad you could get away from their, atleast for a little while. Any idea how long you have?" He asked.

"Yes- the first time was a bit of a surprise." He smiled a bit at the thought before frowning again.

"I...don't know. I know it was enough to help a friend and see you- but it could be over soon."

His hand itched for a moment before he flexed his fingers and put his hand into his pocket.
