I AM A SPECIEST. I'M A SPECIES CHAUVINIST. OTHERWISE I DIE.
i don't understand it. if they divide different species according to whether they can feel pleasure/pain or not, and they eat only those that don't distinguish b/w these feelings, they're left with dead matter. this planet doesn't provide humans with food which doesn't feel, or at least not as much of it as would keep you alive for long. if you eat potatoes only, you're an ethical terrorist too, because potatoes prefer to live rather than die, potatoes go into great lengths to stay alive. so if you want to be consistent, you have to admit that plants also have this basic preference of non-pain, or life over death.
then if they consider the desire to stay alive ethically right, why do they deny it to themselves? that's why i don't understand vegetarians
