Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, Late Tuesday Night/Early Wednesday Morning

The ice hotel was lovely. It really was. Jono had quickly adapted to the idea of sleeping while being stared at by ice wolves, and the silence, both physical and psionic, was doing wonders for his nerves. The room wasn't even all that cold. Below freezing, yes, but there were more than enough blankets, and the shared body heat made sleeping easy enough.

Really, Jono had only one complaint, and it was the same complaint he'd had for a long while, rearing its ugly head again. Yes, it was late. Yes, he had been so bloody close to sleeping, which was saying a hell of a lot considering the ghosts that always lurked just at the edges of his consciousness. But, lord, it had been far too bloody long, apparently, since he had gone to bed with his wrappings on, and while he didn't care much for the idea of, oh, accidentally melting their bed or anything, they were more uncomfortable to lay around in than he remembered.

He sat up, ignoring the crisp cold on his arms as he shimmied out from under the blankets, and started tugging at his bandages here and there, hoping to at least alleviate the discomfort somewhat. Maybe they were just too tight, or they were aggravating his injuries from the weekend or something.
