Yuletide Letter
Dear Yuletide Author,
Happy Yuletide. Thank you for writing any of these prompts. I love stories that's beyond the canon, exploring character shaping events that took place "off screen", as it were. I love poignancy of internal conflicts and settings of all the following prompts. I read all sorts of fanfic porn (barring underage), but what I love most is the emotional resonance forever afterwards, even if it requires a sort of revisionist look at a character. I'm completely fine with high angst AUs as long as it's nothing to do with modern/mundane world tropes (i.e. high-school, barista etc).
His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman
Lord Asriel (His Dark Materials) Lee Scoresby (His Dark Materials) Serafina Pekkala (His Dark Materials) Marisa Coulter (His Dark Materials)
I want a story of the strange frozen North. Of these incredibly competent characters encountering and confronting unexpected weaknesses in themselves that takes place before or during the HDM trilogy. I feel Pullman did them a disservice by making them like characters out of fanfic tropes though hinting much more complicated interactions beneath. Feel free to choose a main character of the fic from any of the ones on the list given as long as all of them have a role in the story. But whatever you choose to write, please involve a balloon and a cape.

I'm going to leave this to you, dear author. Mostly I want a story of Jo at any age from the Little Women canon (Good Wives, Jo's Boys etc). I've no pairing preference so if you think Jo/Laurie belong together after Amy then so be it. I would not mind an AU at all because there's still a part of me that do think Jo/Laurie belong together.
