2008 is the year my nephew discovered that saying "asshole" (or, "A-hole") is more effective than saying "dummy" or "stupid head" to describe...well, an asshole.
At dinner with my parents this evening:
Nephew: Yeah, this kid in my class is a real...A-hole...I am not looking forward to school tomorrow.
My mom: Don't say that!
Nephew: What?
My mom: A-hole!
Nephew: Well...he is!
My mom: What makes him...an A-hole?
Nephew (thinking for a moment): It probably has something to do with his parents.
Me: Good answer!
My mom: Don't listen to her, she's a trash mouth.
(Later, my nephew told me that he actually says "asshole" when his grandparents aren't around.)
